It was a gorgeous day in Vegas today.  In the 70's and sunny.  So, what to do when the outside calls, but there are groceries needed?  

Get to a farmers market, of course!

My haul today included fresh wheat bread, dried mango strips (I basically finished in the car on my way home), cucumber dill hummus, and fresh fruits and veggies.   Yummy!

Today's market is over.  Too bad.  Don't worry, there are several each week all over town.

Paseo Verde Library in Green Valley Ranch.

One of my favorite places to hang out is at the Paseo Verde Library.  I love this place. It has a nice casual cafe to get a quick salad, sandwich or coffee.  There are many places to sit inside either at a comfortable chair or secluded desk.

The best area is towards the back of the library - the reading area.  Nice open space with great views of the Valley and comfortable chairs with laptop shelves.  Perfect place to hide out and get some work done.  Yes, there is wireless access for library card holders. 

So, if you are running around town and need to take a quick breather - head on in!

Happy Veterans Day! 

All over Vegas there are tremendous deals for veterans.  Stations Casinos is offering free buffets at all Stations and Fiesta Casinos.

Veterans can also get a free meal at Applebees.  Free drinks can be found at the Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub.

Visit the M Hotel and veterans pay only $5 for their fantastic buffet.

Veterans can visit Madame Tussads Las Vegas for free (today and tomorrow).

What else?

Free shows at V Theatre and Saxe Theater both at Planet Hollywood.  Also see Greg London, Impressions that Rock at the Riviera for free. 

Discounted tickets to the Lion King (at Mandalay Bay) are available for veterans. You pay $45 for a show ticket and also get free passes for a breakfast or lunch buffet (to be used today).

Yes, you can even get your car washed for free at Terrible Herbst manned car washes from 11 am - 3 pm.

That should keep you busy!

Green Valley Ranch is a fantastic  master planned community located in Henderson, Nevada.

This community offers a good mix of homes with townhomes, condos, and beautiful single family homes.  There are gated and non-gated communities. 

Oh, if you like walking paths, parks, shopping, and entertainment this community is for you!  The Green Valley Ranch Station and The District are all in Green Valley Ranch.

Did I mention walking paths and recreational facilities?  The MultiGenerational Complex has a swimming complex and community center.
